So I finally got clothes...

[Pretend it's a picture of the uniform laid out on the bed] I recently got this in the maibox. It's my other self's school uniform. For those who don't know, he went to a wizarding school in the UK. The green represents the house his was in (it's like a dorm for you non-Brits). His house was called Slytherin, which usually has students in it who were ambitious and cunning. It doesn't really fit though. I can put the robe on and that's about it. But considering this was probably his uniform when he was around 16 or so, it makes sense. Thoughts? Opinions?

It would be more interesting if the teachers were more competent. There was one teacher who released a cage full of Cornish pixies on his students.

Like I said, incompetent teacher. He taught defense against the dark arts.

Now, if you wanted to talk REALLY incompetent teacher, the one for Care of Magical Creatures was exceptionally bad. He had his students interact with fully grown hippogriffs and my other self got attacked. Got his arm cut open by its claw.

...Was there any sort of vetting process whatsoever for these people, or were they randomly selected off the street?

No idea. I'm guessing the Headmaster chose them.

Clearly, he was an excellent judge of character.

I really don't have many memories of the headmasters. I don't even know his name. I just know he's SUPER OLD.

That explains a fair amount, actually. I have a hard time finding people who have a particularly good track record with very old men on this network.

The Transfiguration professor seemed competent. Super strict with all her students.

At least there was one of them. Transfiguration - I'm assuming that's exactly what it sounds like? Turning one thing into another?

I'm assuming so. I've only had a small memory of a transfiguration class where two of my classmates came in late and the professor transformed from a tabby cat back into a human just to scold them.

That's actually something I have a frame of reference for - humans transforming into other things and back again. I can't say I've ever seen anyone turn into a proper animal like a cat, however.

I think she's an animagus (a witch or wizard that can magically turn into an animal at will).

...You have an entire classification for it, that's fascinating.

It was mentioned in a Defense against the Dark Arts class when we were learning about werewolves. Because there'obviously a difference.

Willing transformation as opposed to...well, lycanthropy, I assume.

Well according to Granger, werewolves have no choice in when they transform and they also can't recognize any of their friends when they transform. Thus, they could kill their best friend if they were nearby.
