Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain one of this month's freebies! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 10 or more consecutive comments from you.
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Alphas, Betas, and Epsilons will notice that network posts will continue to be tagged without names attached but rather their newly issued IDs. OOCly, IDs are comprised of their title, the date they showed up on the app, and the digits on your character's inbox post. So for example, the Recollé NPC who was on the app would have an ID of Beta#0201188329. While user pictures can be displayed, Retrospec users will also experience broken pixels on occasion that obscure the face of whoever they're speaking to. (i.e. we will allow for players to play with an anonymous option if they wish.) |

still confused about the japanese rules though.
can you enlighten me, sensei?

The essence is the cutting-- known as kiru-- which is represented by a juxtaposition of two images or ideas, along with a kireji (translated as "cutting word") between them. To be a little more specific about kireji, they're basically the special category of words that are used in certain types of poetry.
I can give a few common examples.
か (pronounced as ka) for example is used for emphasis, and usually indicates a question.
かな (pronounced as kana) is also used for emphasis, and is usually found at the end of a poem and indicates wonder
There's also some verbal suffixes, adjectival suffixes, or other kireji that are used to emphasize words.
Are you following me so far? I can talk about the other two qualities after this.

so basically: it's like adding italicization or underscores to certain words to emphasis the parts important to the haiku except they are actual words than just indications?
okay
am i even making any sense?
i swear it made sense in my head.
[What is translating Japanese ideas to someone born outside of the country?]

But yeah. It's similar to that.

they are pretty easy to follow.
thank you for it, mio-sensei! ❤️
how are you after returning from 8bit world?
no subject
But I'm fine.

you'll be doing the city a favor by becoming one.
or the world, i suppose, if you have plans of leaving the city once this nonsense is over.
good!
if you need any bugs to be taken care of, let me know and i'll come to assist.
i need to pay you back for all the lessons you've given me.

We'll see.
And thanks. I really appreciate it!

It'd be nice to know how you're doing.
Like, if you ever decided to take those language and teaching courses.
It'd be interesting to set up some kind of business for it in the future.
I mean, how many people would appreciate watching youtube or instagram videos about it?
no subject
Although honestly, I'm not so sure about setting up a business. I kind of have been working on being a head of one for all of my life and I kind of just... don't want to really run a business, I guess? Reminds me of things that I'd rather not do. But I could probably post up videos at some point.
