Safe mode is now offline. Please be aware the infectant is still live. Manual debugging required. Retr ![]()
Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain one of this month's freebies! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 10 or more consecutive comments from you.
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Alphas, Betas, and Epsilons will notice that network posts will continue to be tagged without names attached but rather their newly issued IDs. OOCly, IDs are comprised of their title, the date they showed up on the app, and the digits on your character's inbox post. So for example, the Recollé NPC who was on the app would have an ID of Beta#0201188329. While user pictures can be displayed, Retrospec users will also experience broken pixels on occasion that obscure the face of whoever they're speaking to. (i.e. we will allow for players to play with an anonymous option if they wish.) |

Do you really think you can stop what the infectant is?
no subject
I don't know, but I can try. Like I told your brother, I've got a point A and a point B. I'll figure out the road while I'm walking it.
no subject
Clover is leaving that alone. ]
It's pretty with both Anna and Annalise.
It's better to try than to not, but at the same time, trying without knowing anything can lead you astray. It's possible to take a wrong turn, multiple wrong turns.

But thanks for being worried.

The one I can't figure out is why the amusement park last month was run by a fake Retrospec.
no subject
My theory is that it was a partial but successful attack by Clarence Vanderweele and/or his supporters. I don't have a solid reason for why or how, but that's the theory that makes the most sense to me at the moment.
no subject
Obviously it was Clarence. The "how" is probably because we were all in some big computer simulation. The "why" is what I can't pin down. Did he think we wouldn't notice something weird about the logo of the company that's been running our lives?
no subject
Those two months when some of us were different.... those of us who are still different after those two months... How much of that was Retrospec? How much of that was Clarence Vanderweele? If he can successfully hijack the system, with a more seamless copy, who's to say what we would or wouldn't notice?
Perhaps that was their alpha test.

I don't hate Annalise. She was just really self-serving, I guess? Didn't care about things until they were a problem for her personally. And if that's the way other people want to live, go for it, but that's definitely not the way I live. And nobody with my name should ever act like that.
no subject
Was she really that self-serving? She expressed enough care even though we knew each other less than you and I do. I'm not saying you two are the same because you're not. Circumstances change so much.

I'll take all the theories we can get, no matter how scary. At least one of them is bound to be right.
no subject
It's better to find more likely theories than list every one possible. Efficiency serves to save headaches.
no subject
Wanted to say something sarcastic here, but "push the limits so you can see how far until they push back" is basically what everyone like him thinks like. That alpha test theory really isn't too far off, huh? Shit.

Right. It's reprehensible. People shouldn't be toyed with like this.
You've had to witness a version of yourself you'd rather not be like, and I...
You know what happened.
no subject
Yeah.
When you put it like that, I almost sound like an asshole.
no subject
I meant, if their attempt to hijack the system is what led us to experience those two months, it... it's terrible. I didn't mean to make it seem like you were insensitive.
[ For once, she didn't actually mean to be passive-aggressive. Amazing. ]
no subject
All of it's terrible. This whole time I was worried about turning into a robot and having someone else control me, and they can just do that when I'm still mostly human, which is cool. All the more reason to stop him before he gets any bolder.
no subject
From that report from Tatsuo Kihara and Derek Matthews, it seems he's already bold enough. He'll do whatever he wants, dead or alive.
no subject
Even if he weren't changing everything around us (or not, because who knows what he's doing, really), he still thinks he gets to decide who lives and who dies. He still thinks that he knows which people deserve to survive. And if he has followers, you know they all think they're on that list, but somebody like him only cares about himself. He'll kill them in a second as soon as he gets what he wants. That's how genocidal maniacs always work.
Sorry. Kind of a hot button with me.
no subject
But we need a direction. How do we find him or his supporters when we can't even do that with Retrospec?
no subject
I'll figure it out.
