he's really used to Jen already (which makes sense because he's her dog from Retrospec) but he got used to me sooo quickly
i barely knew him for five seconds before he was licking my face and making me smell his puppy breath

i don't actually know? he was definitely mailed to us and my roommate says it was his second time through
and he didn't seem to mind it! but i mean he is a puppy and they love people unconditionally so maybe he just saw us and forgot about how bad it was in there

But I'm so glad he's doing well! Is he well trained, or is it a work in progress?

he seems to be trained really well but i don't actually know?
if you mean training as "he does what we want him to do" then he's doing great at that! because all we want him to do is cuddle up with us and lick our faces and he's really really good at both of those

Yeah I guess I meant like, if he's housetrained and walks well on a leash and stuff... the standard things for dogs
(Obviously I'm more familiar with cats, who are conscientious objectors to training)

(but even i know nobody has ever trained a cat. cats have just convinced us that they're trained by making us think what we want is the same as what they want.)

Yeah, they're twins! But they'd grown up separately for the last several years. They're both off the app now.

oh... well, at least you had the chance to get to know him while he was on the app! it's a good sign for any friendships, too. it means they really won't go away if someone falls off the app.

But I guess I really have gotten to know him a lot better since having it...

right, right, that's how it happened with me and Jen, too
we were really bad roommates for a while and then we just started talking about the app and things that were happening to us because of it, and i think we're more or less best friends now?

it's nice to remember that there are some good things that come out of being on here, especially when it starts looking this bad
i mean, look at all the cute people i know so much better now because i'm on the app!!! (it's you, i'm talking about you)

you know, it's funny, i don't really remember a lot of the specifics anymore? i don't know how much of that was because it's from the weird two months that only sort of happened and how much is because she and i patched things up REALLY well. mostly i remember it being a problem of communication -- you know, we never did it. things finally started turning around when we both agreed to have dinner together at a table.

anyway it's October, Jamie! the only army i'm amassing is a skeleton one!!!

Once they're solved, and you look back on it, a solution like "talk to each other" seems so simple... but when you're actually in the midst of it, and something like that works, it feels like a miracle

no you're definitely describing it well!!! it's like, yeah, when you're looking back and you have hindsight, you know exactly what you should've done and you can see just how bad it got before you actually did anything about it
but if you solve all your problems with hindsight then you're going to be amazed when you try something in the moment and it solves the problem right there before it even has to get to hindsight
i understand you, don't worry!

i guess some skeletons can be cute
