[ At 9PM on the 1st, all phones or Retrospec-enabled devices will show flickering screens, until a static-filled image appears. It seems to be a security camera shot, in black and white from a high angle, of a simple computer room. Inside is Joanne Wiseman who many of the users may recognize - she looks young, blonde curls loose around her shoulders, and she also looks tired still.

A young man who looks only slightly older than her comes in. He's dark-haired with a sweater and glasses, but a white labcoat that matches hers as well. Maurice comes over to stand nearby, watching the screen Joanne is looking at.

Neither of them seem to realize they're being recorded. Joanne looks up, and speaks first. ]

Did R and D know anything?

[ Maurice shakes his head, says: ] No. They can't track them down either - it's almost as if...

[ Joanne: ] They have to be somewhere.

[ Maurice: ] Jim's trying to figure it out. You know we don't have anyone better at...ah, "creative" solutions?

[ Joanne: ] No, I know, just...what if their souls are just, just -

[ Maurice: ] I don't think they're gone. I mean - well, they're gone, but I don't think they're gone? You remember August, the one before last. They're, uh, pretty tough?

[ Joanne: ] We're usually able to at least try to help them when we can, though!

[ Maurice: ] Jo - look, we're doing everything we can. We'll find them.

[ Joanne: ] Before they do?

[ Maurice: ] Right. I mean...we have to, don't we?

[ They both look worried. Before they do was said with a certain inflection - and hey, Retrospec. It looks like the employees have lost track of you for the month. How do you feel about that one? ]

As of this post, character usernames are back to being their own names - or rather, characters will be prompted to put in their name as a boot screen loads. Now's your chance to change your preferred name, Retrospecters - but it appears whatever you put in will be locked in as your choice. Hope you didn't put in something ridiculous!

[Holy crap holy crap]

There's been a Crow Armbrust in my memories! He has really different hair, so I thought you being called Crow was just a funny coincidence. But you sharing both names? That's way too coincidental. You know??

[Oh wow. He sure didn't expect this bomb to drop during his first few weeks of being on the app. A small part of him doubts it's what it sounds like, but...it'd be nice, wouldn't it? To have met someone from the same world by sheer coincidence?

It's not like this is some 'John Smith' situation.]

So you're saying...in your past life you have a memory of a guy with my exact name. And he's part of this 'Class VII'? Talk about fate...

[Elliot too wasn't really expecting this. After a year of no sign of Class VII, he'd gotten really used to none of them ever showing up. So to have one...]

Yeah! And he really likes gambling and tends to be pretty laid back--

Hold on, there's a picture Retrospec sent to me awhile ago!

[There's a pause before he uploads a photo:]

Crow's that tall guy in green with the headband. And...haha, old man hair.

[Holy shit.

Elliot sends the picture over, and while it's not at all familiar to him, his eyes do gravitate to the person he describes.

The tall one in the green coat...

The one...]

...Jesus.

He looks almost just like me.

Yeah....

Haha, looking at it, now I feel a little stupid for not making the connection earlier.

[As he probably should. But in his defense, the hair color threw him off!!]

But this is great! I was always nervous about what meeting someone from that class would be like. Turns out it's a lot easier when you meet them without realizing it, haha!

[In Elliot's defense, there's about 15 people here, and Crow's hair was considerably darker and his eyes less red.

So everyone forgives.

But that about seals it for Crow. He may not remember anything, but there's substantial evidence that this Crow in the picture is him, albeit a few cosmetic differences. He won't know for sure until his own memories start surfacing, but for now he'll just go with it.]

Who'd have thought, right? I wonder if this means our souls are just drawn to each other because of our past life...

Hehe, maybe they are. I've seen a lot of people with connected past lives find each other.

[But never himself. He'd sit and watch his friends bond over personas, listen to couples share their past life together, or simply hear about people forming bonds from the shared memories. All the while he remained been alone, wondering if he was the only one in that photo to make it to this life.

But he wasn't alone anymore. Someone was here. Someone else had made it.

It's probably a good thing this over the network, because Elliot sure is getting teared up with happy tears right now. ]

Hehe, I know this must be weird for you, but I have to admit I'm really happy right now.

[While Crow can't necessarily see Elliot from behind the feed, there's something in the way he's texting that gives off this warm, fuzzy feeling. He might not know if he's this Crow for certain until his own memories start coming back, but it's worth living that life for now, if it makes Elliot this happy.

The resemblence and his name did give an airtight case, after all.]

Heh, a little. But it's got its charm, too. It just seems so fairytale, you know? The guy you meet at a cafe and played cards with... SURPRISE. He's one of your buddies of a past life!

[Crow if there was somehow, by some insane chance, a second Crow Armbrust that looked like that in the city, then you should both buy lottery tickets and whoever is the winner is the fake Crow Armbrust because that'd never happen.]

Haha, yeah! It almost sounds like the premise of one of those romcom movies.

I mean, except for the part where I'm happily engaged and our past selves were just classmates.

But it's still nice!

[Wow that meta-text cuts him deeply, Elliot Craig. He's a winner on the inside. Tell him he's a winner on the inside...]

[Elliot and he weren't exactly CLOSE until recently, but...still, that's exciting to hear.]

Right. And the same goes for you! We might share a past life, but it's this one that's really important- so I wanna know about yours too!

My fiance? Well, he's very driven, hard-working, and compassionate. Right now, he's studying to be a paramedic at RU. We won't actually get married until we both finish with school, but he wanted to make things official.

[Aw, Elliot, it's been a few minutes and he's already getting special treatment. Truth be told, he didn't know what world he came from, but now that he knows ELLIOT comes from his, supposedly? It's a little comforting to take all of this in.

But that description raises his eyebrows for a multitude of reasons..

A paramedic at RU, huh. That meant Elliot's fiancee had a 90% chance of being in his class. Maybe it was Gunther? Or maybe Ted...He could see Andrew being into a music nerd like Elliot. Andrew liked music. Probably.]
