[ At 9PM on the 1st, all phones or Retrospec-enabled devices will show flickering screens, until a static-filled image appears. It seems to be a security camera shot, in black and white from a high angle, of a simple computer room. Inside is Joanne Wiseman who many of the users may recognize - she looks young, blonde curls loose around her shoulders, and she also looks tired still. A young man who looks only slightly older than her comes in. He's dark-haired with a sweater and glasses, but a white labcoat that matches hers as well. Maurice comes over to stand nearby, watching the screen Joanne is looking at. Neither of them seem to realize they're being recorded. Joanne looks up, and speaks first. ] Did R and D know anything? [ Maurice shakes his head, says: ] No. They can't track them down either - it's almost as if... [ Joanne: ] They have to be somewhere. [ Maurice: ] Jim's trying to figure it out. You know we don't have anyone better at...ah, "creative" solutions? [ Joanne: ] No, I know, just...what if their souls are just, just - [ Maurice: ] I don't think they're gone. I mean - well, they're gone, but I don't think they're gone? You remember August, the one before last. They're, uh, pretty tough? [ Joanne: ] We're usually able to at least try to help them when we can, though! [ Maurice: ] Jo - look, we're doing everything we can. We'll find them. [ Joanne: ] Before they do? [ Maurice: ] Right. I mean...we have to, don't we? [ They both look worried. Before they do was said with a certain inflection - and hey, Retrospec. It looks like the employees have lost track of you for the month. How do you feel about that one? ] As of this post, character usernames are back to being their own names - or rather, characters will be prompted to put in their name as a boot screen loads. Now's your chance to change your preferred name, Retrospecters - but it appears whatever you put in will be locked in as your choice. Hope you didn't put in something ridiculous! pretty much and mixed with scifi and fantasy and an assortment of genres
not my entire face thats my ears and bits of my face but like eyes and mouth and shit
i dont really have an interest in doing that actually

The magic and science stuff I don't mind. Hell I HAVE magic and it is freaking awesome!

I don't know...if there were money involved I would put whatever furry stuff to use.

If they get to fuck with us, there should be some benefit to being in the program

Fire magic, I try to use it whenever I can, I blew up a pumpkin last month, got a good smack and a pie out of it.

I meant, if I suddenly looked like a furry, and found out there was a furry costume contest or something and the winner gets money I would go for it, cause might as well try looking on the bright side with all this strange shit going on.

Like, this stuff REALLY sucks, but, at least I'm meeting people I wouldn't have otherwise and I got some stories to share, granted every other memory is practically a heart attack in a box with no context. But stories and conversation starters for sure.

that sounds really convenient just be careful to not start any forest fires
or have a water powered person around at all times or a fire extinguisher in your backpack
i can understand that so long as it doesnt clash with my schedule then maaybe
and possibly good story fodder for authors or fairytalers or musicians or artists so there are some good stuff in there

Well....I haven't started any FOREST fires...

just the urban variety. Fire department thought it was a giant gas leak, and...that was the story I went with. Cause who the hell is going to believe "I have a Djinn living in my knife and bugs were attacking my house".

Well also just for us users to talk about, My last memory was about a possible mentor figure wanting to see a girl's magic and...she brought a tsunami...as you do...

sounds like the ideal demonstration to somebodys magic id say that sounds pretty interesting

Not when your a bystander and said tsunami is about to crash into the island your on...I want to tell a story out of it, but there is no context for most of it. Just random fights or monsters mostly...my first one was apparently picking a fight with a giant elephant.

Mind if I ask what was your first memory?

And again, no context. I was in a fancy courtyard, a dude looked at me, he transformed into a giant elephant, then sent me flying like a doll, made a big dent in some stone wall and got up, ready to fight it as if I got sucker punched.

HOLY! So basically "give me a big ass snake for dinner or else"!?

so it wasnt actually an elephant you were picking a fight with just a person that could turn into one

basically yeah im pretty sure it was not an idle threat
but probably a common one

Well, yes. But I did get smacked by an elephant, hurt like a bitch but no broken bones or anything from what I could tell.

Sounds like it, casually threatening people's lives just for lunch is kinda crazy. If she kills the person who might get her lunch...who else is going to get it after?
