LOADING...
[ At 9PM on the 1st, all phones or Retrospec-enabled devices will show flickering screens, until a static-filled image appears. It seems to be a security camera shot, in black and white from a high angle, of a simple computer room. Inside is Joanne Wiseman who many of the users may recognize - she looks young, blonde curls loose around her shoulders, and she also looks tired still. A young man who looks only slightly older than her comes in. He's dark-haired with a sweater and glasses, but a white labcoat that matches hers as well. Maurice comes over to stand nearby, watching the screen Joanne is looking at. Neither of them seem to realize they're being recorded. Joanne looks up, and speaks first. ] Did R and D know anything? [ Maurice shakes his head, says: ] No. They can't track them down either - it's almost as if... [ Joanne: ] They have to be somewhere. [ Maurice: ] Jim's trying to figure it out. You know we don't have anyone better at...ah, "creative" solutions? [ Joanne: ] No, I know, just...what if their souls are just, just - [ Maurice: ] I don't think they're gone. I mean - well, they're gone, but I don't think they're gone? You remember August, the one before last. They're, uh, pretty tough? [ Joanne: ] We're usually able to at least try to help them when we can, though! [ Maurice: ] Jo - look, we're doing everything we can. We'll find them. [ Joanne: ] Before they do? [ Maurice: ] Right. I mean...we have to, don't we? [ They both look worried. Before they do was said with a certain inflection - and hey, Retrospec. It looks like the employees have lost track of you for the month. How do you feel about that one? ]
As of this post, character usernames are back to being their own names - or rather, characters will be prompted to put in their name as a boot screen loads. Now's your chance to change your preferred name, Retrospecters - but it appears whatever you put in will be locked in as your choice. Hope you didn't put in something ridiculous! Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. As a friendly reminder, you may also claim one of this month's freebie by submitting a thread from this mod post. This thread must be 10 comments from you and submitted before AC closes. |

never
nothing has ever made sense here
but i'll tell you this
you haven't lived until you've accidentally shadowjumped your way out of prison so you could flop around helplessly in a grass field
why over easy though
scrambled eggs works too
poached eggs
hard boiled
basically any egg cooking method
no subject
that sounds awesome first of all and i am sad to have missed it but second of all are you ok because that also sounds painful.
also i don't know? i don't want to be a hard boiled egg, and i am not the one who came up with the stupid name anyway.
do you even know how to cook eggs, james?
no subject
mostly it just looked and felt really stupid
i'm lucky i figured out how to get back in before anyone noticed i was technically escaped
and of course i know how to cook eggs what kind of question even is that
[ he's not LYING here, per se, but he....doesn't exactly know for sure if he knows how to cook eggs or not either. i mean, how hard can it be??? ]
no subject
i am not sure i would consider that luck, but at least everyone's human again so you're probably safe.
it is an incredibly valid question when i do most of the cooking in the house and have met people who can screw up scrambled eggs.
it's impressive, actually.
no subject
it wasn't actual jumping it was more like
i think i turned into the shadow and i could like travel along wherever my shadow was
one second i see my shadow through a window on the grass and the next i'm outside
no falling actually happened
what is there to screw up about scrambled eggs
[ he asks this not because he thinks scrambled eggs are simple
he asks this because he has never actually made scrambled eggs and has no concept of where things can go wrong at all. ]
no subject
you can burn them, believe it or not. or they can turn out pretty rubbery if you cook them too long.
[Talking about egg disasters isn't the worst way to spend an evening at least.]
no subject
is THAT how scrambled eggs get that way
dang i thought people were just using crappy eggs
no subject
that's not really how eggs work.
am i going to have to make you eggs to prove my point?
no subject
i've only eaten prison eggs for two months john
and rumor has it they're not even eggs
no subject
if i did not think they would maybe confiscate eggs i would bring you eggs.
so ok. if they lift the egg ban or whenever you get out (whatever comes first) i will make you eggs.
like the best eggs.
deal?
[Who's bad at making deals where he actually gets something out of it? John. But oh well. He has a point to prove.]
no subject
don't think i'm gonna forget either
when i get out of here in 15 years you better have some perfect eggs ready for me
no subject
...man is your sentence really 15 years even though you didn't actually kill the guy?
no subject
and even if they knew i didn't
i'd still be doing like 10 years for attempted murder anyway
so yeah
write me that eggs iou so i can cash it in 15 years from now
and by then it'll have been gaining interest so you'd have to make me like
10 times as many eggs as when you wrote it
no subject
i'm still lost on why you did it, but i am sure you had your reasons.
so io-eggs will be a thing.
like two dozen eggs.
with interest i might even throw in some bacon, too.
no subject
take screenshots of this so i can point back to them later as proof
i'd do it myself but it's a communal computer
someone might steal my io-eggs if i just leave it out in the open
no subject
...take care of yourself dude. seriously.
no subject
i handled myself just fine for two months
even with the monster mash battle royale
i've got it covered
no subject
i'll talk to you...whenever.
