[text] i could say i'm sorry but i'm not (except i am. i really, really am.)
I've finally got this song together, but I'm still stumped on the title. I'm putting the lyrics in here for anyone who's got any ideas. Consider this an open call for song title suggestions.
Lyrics:
You punched a hole in my heart, and now
I'm an empty vessel, waiting for the music to fill the blank spaces.
What am I supposed to do now?
Nothing left but to forget all the sneering faces
I feel like a forgotten bag of chips abandoned on the streets, my soul shattered and scattering to the winds like potato leaves.
I’d break the whole world if I could
Just to make sure no one ever has to grieves
Again, and I'd break the whole world but I don't think that I should
The emptiness inside of me is hardening like cement
And now there's nothing that can fit through the cracks and spaces
Nothing left but to watch the spiraling descent
Nothing left but to remember all the sneering faces
I feel like a forgotten bag of chips abandoned on the streets, my soul shattered and scattering to the winds like potato leaves.
I’d break the whole world if I could
Just to make sure no one ever has to grieves
Again, and I'd break the whole world but I don't think that I should
[fade out]

[ emo... emotion... this is somebody who effortlessly waxed poetry about a metaphoric potato, don't be impressed by him ]

[ James sends over a link to his soundcloud, where there's only one song listed called "...And Nobody Understands", whose lyrics and melody are basically a rougher-sounding version of this classic.]
I don't have much up yet, I'm still working on the rest of the songs in this EP, but I've got that one done.

i really like it! the sort of music that touches many people's lives because it's so applicable, like the chips
i think it's fitting to take part of the chorus and make it the title, since you'll want something poignant that will have an impact just by hearing the line
like
"Abandoned on the streets"
or "Scattering to the winds"
or "I'd break the whole world"

You know what, those don't sound half-bad. I like the sound of that last one.
Hey, you mind if I use that stuff you wrote about potato leaves being dry and brittle but good for birds? I wanna try working that into the song, it's exactly what I was trying to say with the song from the beginning.
[ Strictly speaking, no it's not, but James can't keep track of what his songs are really about all that well anyway. ]

"(but I don't think that I should)"!
but yes, go ahead and use any of my words! your song did a good job capturing the sentiment, so i'm glad i was able to properly articulate some of what it meant to me
[ He could understand it! Sort of. Honestly, anything with metaphors and imagery, Ryoji can make it make sense even if he has to force it... ]

You want credit? I can credit you as like a co-writer or something. I'd just need a name.

it's nice to meet you, James!
i'll be first in line when your album comes out, so you had better get a marker ready to sign it for me!

Oh you can bet I'll have one. And you'll be the first to hear when I book a gig to show off this song.
