I've finally got this song together, but I'm still stumped on the title. I'm putting the lyrics in here for anyone who's got any ideas. Consider this an open call for song title suggestions.

I'm working on an album right now, so if you want to do that song, you should let me know sooner than later, I could probably work it in with the other songs.

that's pretty impressive. i don't know if i can produce something that could go on an album, though. or even be read in public, honestly.

Don't worry, leave the reading/singing and producing to me. You handle the lyrics. Hell, no one even has to know you wrote them, I can just say I worked on the song with "another songwriter" or something. Unless you want to do more with it?

The album's mostly about, you know, emptiness, frustration, trying to make sense of stuff when there's no other way to get the feelings out. Like an emotional powder keg, you could call it.

for now i'm just gonna see if i can write a damn thing. one step at a time is the road to success.

is that the name of the album?

I've got a couple names in mind. I'll add that one to the list, though, it's not a bad idea.

You can take your time and all if you need, but if you want the song on this album, it's gonna have to happen in the next month or so. There'll be other albums too, later on, but if you want to get in on the ground floor of this, it's gonna have to be soon.

i work better under a time crunch. give me some general themes, so i don't write anything that doesn't match the tone you're going for.

Better under pressure? I can get that.

It's about feeling trapped with nowhere to go, and trying to find your place in a universe that will ultimately never know or care that you exist.

[ James thought long and hard about how best to describe the album other than "angry and frustrated about everything under the sun", but he thinks that summarizes it pretty well. Meanwhile, I think I cut myself on his edge. ]

i'm the vice captain of the swim team at RU. scouting's not my job, but i don't want to spend my sophmore year racing myself because nobody's been doing it.
