LOADING...

Welcome back, users. Looks like we were able to bring you back online and tracked again...here's hoping the layers are settled now, but the readings are off the chart. We're doing our best to stabilize the city for December while we track some of the magical sources we're picking up. It may take us some time though, so please bear with us!

We may be working through the holidays, too, if this keeps up. But it's okay. You opened the doors and new routes for us to check.

Stay positive, users. December is a special time of the year. What's your favorite holiday tradition? You'd be surprised how thoughts shape things here.

Please take care.

You heard about it too? I thought it was just a legend that originated in Respatrum. I didn't think the other regions knew about it as well.

[Because he certainly didn't remember Elliot from his group, that's for sure!]

Someone had brought up the idea that maybe it was a man named... Vander-something who wanted it. We don't know who tried to get the replica made, and if he even owned a staff, but if he's trying to get revenge on Retrospec, it'd make sense for him to go after it. Maybe the vision we all saw was a message, though? Or some sort of premonition to what's going on.

I mean, everything's been a little unsteady since then, after all.

Yeah, though I heard about it through people who were sent to Respatrum. I'm not sure if the other regions have the legend either.

[In other words, he gathered intel]

Vanderweele does seem like the most likely suspect at this point, especially after hearing he had the power of illusion magic. It'd explain some of the oddities we've seen.

You've noticed that too? Like things aren't holding together as well.

I don't know if they do myself, to be honest. I've heard things from the other regions, about dark energy and corruption and someone trying to buy Pesgare outright, so I'm assuming it was all connected somehow.

[Or that's about as much as he gathered from the other people he spoke to about it. Trying to focus on school and other things made it hard to stay on top of that.]

But yeah, it's sort of hard to ignore. It's like aftershocks from an earthquake or something. With the vision we saw, I don't think it's a coincidence, but that staff in general shouldn't exist anymore. We made sure the replica was destroyed once we left Respatrum.

Yeah. Bosuma had dark energy corruption a-plenty before we purified it.

[Fun times!]

Unless they found another way to make a replica staff...sure hope not though.
Right now, the best we can do is keep an eye out. Here's hoping the holidays go peacefully.

[FUN TIMES INDEED-- although the mention of Bosuma certainly catches his interest.]

I heard a little bit about that. Something to do with the dryads there, right? Fawkes had told me something about it, but I couldn't really communicate outside the group very often because of the heat. Li-Na had told me about the dogs Zee had sent you, too.

[Which, y'know... he's a bit jealous of, since he wished their group got cool dogs!! Instead all they got was ice cream, heatstroke, and somehow a baby phoenix that they couldn't take back. Lame.]

I don't think they could make another without the proper environment in Respatrum, though, and after what happened, I think the residents are going to be extra watchful about it. [Or he hopes so, anyway--] But you're right. Honestly, I'd almost take losing my taste buds again over any of this.

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2018-12-08 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. The Dryads needed help finding a new location since they could only move at night, so we helped them with that. Then we helped with cleansing some of the corruption The dogs were really cute, though my group got a cheetah.

[Which he named Fie after the speedy girl in his memories]

Fingers crossed that's true and he didn't find somewhere else... [Elliot, forever the worrier] Haha, yeah. Things were a lot simpler back then.

... a cheetah? You guys got a cheetah?

[WHAT THE FUCK GROUP 3, WHY DID YOU GET ALL THE GOOD STUFF]

Did it have powers? Li-Na told me their dog Bandian could shoot water out of it's mouth like a Pikamon, but I don't know if he was just the exception.

[... also, he doesn't blame Elliot for being worried, since he's the same way, but--]

I doubt it, though. I don't know the other regions quite as well, but I don't think any of them have the same sort of resources that Respatrum does.
fiddlestick: (concern)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2018-12-10 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, my small group did. Though I don't think it had any special powers, it was just...well, everything a cheetah can do. Which was enough!

[Because you know, it was a fricking CHEETAH]

I hope you're right.

[CHEETAH POWERS]

What did you guys need the dogs and the cheetah for, anyway? Was it something to do with fixing the corruption there?

[Because Li-Na... never actually told them WHY they had the dogs, just that they did and they could use powers. Which was enviable enough, but now he's curious to what their purpose actually was.]
fiddlestick: (fuck this shit)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2018-12-15 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Not...exactly.

There was this tradition called the hunt? And in order to meet the huntsman, we had to complete it. So the dogs were our guides as we ran through these paths.

Mine was full of monsters, though the running was the worst part.

[ONLY FOR YOU ELLIOT]

[personal profile] cardcaptured 2018-12-19 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I think trying to keep up with a cheetah would making running hard for anyone.

[... Xiaolang, no, that's not what he meant!!]

What sort of monsters did you run into? A couple of us had to fight these giant rock... soot creatures, but I can't see those sort of things living in Bosuma.

[Given Bosuma is very not fiery in comparison and all...]
fiddlestick: (elliot095)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2018-12-19 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sorry Xiaolang, he takes that as someone who UNDERSTANDS]

Right? Just how in the world did they expect anyone to keep up with that?? It was rough....

Hmm...I don't remember any soot monsters. We were fighting these corrupted creatures that'd jump out of trees? Also a giant spider and...evil trees. Those sure happened.

[personal profile] cardcaptured 2018-12-23 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh Elliot, you're going to be SO DISAPPOINTED]

I mean, a cheetah can run up to 120 km an hour, and a normal person can only run a fraction of that, even at their fastest, so I can't see how Zee thought that could be helpful. Unless maybe you harnessed it to something, but I don't think a single cheetah is strong enough for that...

[Why are you imagining cheetah sleighs, Xiaolang, that's really weird??]

Fawkes had told me about giant woodpeckers, so I can believe the giant spiders, but... evil trees? How does that even work?

[Please don't tell him it was like the Magatus trees that one month, please--]
fiddlestick: (fuck this shit)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2018-12-24 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Cheetah sleds...]

Yeah, exactly. There wasn't any harnesses or anything like that. We were just free running behind a cheetah. Through a monster infested forest. It was rough.

Oh, the trees were corrupted by the dark energy. So they came to life and started attacking us. It was strange, but Bosuma is a magic forest, so...can't be TOO surprised.

Once we cleared up the corruption, they acted like normal trees again.
