Happy New Years, users.

I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps.

As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think?

The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can.

Please take care.

There are paid internships at the Recolle Crime Lab if you're interested.

Oh, thank you. I'd better leave those for people wanting to go into criminal justice though. I'm more interested in sports medicine and physical therapy.

Though, what do crime lab interns do? Are they allowed to work on active cases?

There are internships in multiple areas, so it really depends on what you're interested in. There's things in administration, victim assistance, crime lab, forensic anthropology/ entomology/ Emergency management/ imaging/ investigation, legal counsel. There is more than just looking at finger prints and stomach remains.

But in answer to your question, yeah as long as you go through the training.

Huh. That's cool. Nice of them to let the interns get their feet wet.

I take it you work at the crime lab yourself?

Yes, I'm a CSI and I deal more with identifying poisons and other general forensic stuff. I also collected evidence at crime scenes.

So you're more scientist than cop.

I'm all scientist and no cop. That's a completely different department.

Oh. So you don't get to go arrest the bad guys.

Re: un: rinkas

No. Oh my gosh, you watch to much crime shows that you are horribly informed on what a CSI actually does!

I find the evidence that gives detectives the ability to arrest someone.

You're making some broad assumptions about the TV habits of someone you barely know.

The fact that you thought CSI could arrest people means you've watched crime shows. It isn't broad, it's factual and precise.

No, it really doesn't. I barely know what a CSI is, so I asked some clarifying questions. Why does this chafe you so much?

[Derek, you're arguing with a highschool girl again]

Re: un: rinkas

[personal profile] blondferret 2019-01-09 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Because you're asking the same ignorant questions those people who DO watch those stupid crime shows ask. Do you even know what "CSI" means?

And if you must know why it "chafes" me so much, it's because often people think they now what I do, I tell them I don't, and then they tend to get disappointed. Which is just rude! I did 4 years of study, got two degrees, to be qualified to get this job. People have no right to be disappointed in what I do at my job.

It means you're getting way too involved in your online arguments. It is a suggestion you go outside and remind yourself of the physical world.
