Happy New Years, users. I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps. As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think? The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can. Please take care. Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr ![]()

Think of it like a solar system. Normal people are like the sun, and we're somewhere around Mercury, but there could be all sorts of layers beyond us around Jupiter or Saturn that we don't even know about
Maybe that's what Retrospec's lookin' for
But Retrospec THEMSELVES...who knows if they're even in the solar system at all
no subject
No, that's not a challenge.
But yeah, I'm still following. Can't say having my soul at the whim of an eldritch corporation is ever how I wanted my life to go, but here we are
no subject
Your choice, Grumpy
Can't say I enjoy it much either, but that's what we get for being otherworldly souls I guess

Although, I wonder, would that make Pluto the forbidden radio frequency, now that it's not a planet anymore...
Yeah, guess so. How dare we be born/get reincarnated/whatever. Ugh.
no subject
You seem to be doing just fine equating pluto with a radio frequency though, so I'll take your little complaint with a grain of salt
PS it's a planet in spirit
no subject
Take it with all my salt that Pluto isn't a planet anymore. It'll always be a planet in my heart, too.
no subject
Man, I hear ya, though. They raise us with 'all planets are valid' and suddenly they take poor Pluto's membership away just cause he can't grab everything from his orbit
no subject
You can't just raise us telling us there are nine planets and then just rip one away!

It means Holst was right all along not to include Pluto in the Planets symphony.
[Sure it was written before pluto was even discovered, but still #priorities ]
no subject
Pluto should be grandfathered in if anything!
This Holst guy sounds like he needed some serious critique from one Crow Armbrust
no subject
Also good luck time traveling to 1918 to critique him, Crow
no subject
And you can't grandfather Pluto into the symphony, it'd ruin the whole piece!
no subject
You don't know that, Elliot! What if you wrote it in there? Some kinda...justice for Pluto
no subject
Also, according to wikipedia, people have written in Pluto. So make of that what you will I guess
no subject
no subject
So what would it be about, Elliot? Speaking hypothetically
What would you paint on your musical canvas?
no subject
It's a lot more complicated than writing a piece for violin or piano. You have so many different instruments and players to consider. I haven't thought what I'd want to say so loudly yet.
no subject
I'm sure whatever you do have to say, when you get there, will be beautiful.
no subject
I don't know much about music but I can tell when someone's got a lot he wants to say
no subject
And...that's a good resolution. I'll give it some thought.
After I figure out how to play violin without causing magic to to happen anyway.

Also, sidenote: still wanna see that in action
no subject
You do?
no subject
Also, having seen it: it's pretty awesome, Elliot. Can't blame him for wanting to.
no subject
And see? Even Rean's praising your handiwork
