Happy New Years, users.

I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps.

As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think?

The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can.

[ anyway, souji is coming. he's on his way and he's ready to destroy rean. he has taken his sword with him so rean can regret it as soon as he sees him. in fact, maybe he'll regret it as souji starts to fall out his name in a spoopy horror movie manner ]

[Rean hears his "name" being called and doesn't quite look up over his textbook yet. He hears the spoopy horror movie tone, but has elected to ignore it while he finishes up this sentence he's reading.]

Why do you have a sword?!

[ if it helps, the sword is sheathed but if it doesn't help, well... at least it'll be quick death?? ]

I'd prefer testing in a way that doesn't involve actual bloodshed in the middle of the student union. Dying or going to jail really isn't high up on my list of priorities today, you know?

Well, if you still have your extra lives, you won't die. And cleaning up blood isn't that hard.

[ does souji have experience with cleaning it up? hmmmm ]

Let me rephrase this:

Please don't hit me, or anyone else here, with a sword.

[Souji just got here and he's already so tired]

[ has he learnt by now that souji is not someone you should deal with if you don't have an endless stream of patience or energy? ]

[He... may have. But then again, Rean is known to put up with entirely too much from entirely too many people regardless of how tired he is, so he's probably just doomed here in more ways than one.]

Do you normally go into public spaces and murder people?

[Seriously, how has no one even noticed this guy has a sword? You can't just walk into ~~a food court~~ the student union with a freaking sword.]

Rean just pauses and stares at him for a long moment.]

You're going to have to trust that I'm a decent individual who doesn't advocate murder.

[And then, completely deadpan:]

Alternatively, consider it testing for your nine lives theory.

[ souji thinks for a few seconds, completely exaggerating his movements by placing a hand to his chin, loudly going "hmmm", before he nods. ]

I can't argue against that.

[ he then hands over the sword to rean. ]

If you are going to stab me though, can you at least make it quick so I wouldn't suffer?

[He can't believe he's in the student union holding someone else's sword, but then again, he can't believe any of the past however many minutes.]

I wouldn't dream of dragging it out.

[He might be dreaming of just that right now. He'd never go through with it, though.]

[ rean's life must be so exciting now that he has souji in his life. anyway! souji will follow rean out of the student union (he does want his sword back at the end of everything) ]

Where are you heading off now?

[Sure is. Can he get a refund? He thinks he liked it better boring.

Rean's off, though, Souji's sword in one hand and trying his best to avoid any weird stares he gets as he makes his way back outside.]

...Well, you know. My original plan was just "anywhere else," but if I'm stuck with you anyway, may as well hit up a cafe.

Maybe some tea will do something for that migraine I can feel starting.
