I'll preface this now with the notion that I don't expect anyone to respond with the content of their memories, should this be relevant to them. It's more a question being shouted into the void, because I don't care to keep it in my head any longer. Make of it what you will; treat it as a pure hypothetical if it suits you, it isn't as though I'll know the difference.

But has anyone had the suspicion that they may have been on the wrong side of whatever conflict may have been occurring in these memories of theirs? Or if not something so drastic, perhaps it's just that the person you seem to have been back then was deserving of, at the very least, a solid shake and a slap across the face.

Either way, people like to assert here that whomever you are now isn't the same as the person you're remembering, and I wholeheartedly agree with that notion. However, the question likewise comes up from time to time of whether or not the patterns we recall are what we're destined to fall into again.

That possibility becomes decidedly more difficult to disregard when the memories you receive are of someone that you have neither the interest nor the desire to become.

Whether history repeats itself would be a matter of whether a human mind is capable of changing itself to avoid falling into patterns of the past. I would expect this to vary from person to person as well.

Again, not incorrect in theory, but a vast oversimplification - were it that simple, situations like that wouldn't happen in the first place.

What would be your non-simplified stand?

As I've said, it's impossible to know whether this is something that can merely be affected by one's force of will, or their willingness or desire to change, when we can't possibly identify all of the moving parts that are currently in play.

It isn't as though all the cards are on the table - we haven't any solid facts regarding why this is happening altogether, for one. As such, what happens from here on out can't be reduced to one process or capability, as much as I'm certain we'd like it to be.

That much is true. A human's emotions throw a lot of uncertainty into any reasoning process.

Emotions and external factors beyond our control, yes.

As much as I would like to believe that we're masters of our own destiny, power balances - or perhaps the lack thereof - are certainly something to be taken into account.

There's a reason patience is generally considered a virtue.

As much as I'd enjoy having the solution to the world's problems at my fingertips, it isn't as though there's much to be done for the time being.

Find all the information we can. Encouraging further visions may be either good or bad, but I can't imagine knowing more is a bad thing overall, even if it's unsettling. Take what we get and use it when we can.

I doubt that anything about this is going to be a simple, immediate process.

I have been conducting investigations as well.

What sort of investigations are we referring to?

Data collection and poking into the building via proxy. I cannot visit in person, thus I receive information from those who can. Then, I look through them for a pattern.

I have several hypotheses that may be supported, but it is hard to concretely justify them as of now.
