i dunno, where do you want to meet? i'm just hanging out close to the river, but if we're playing compare our flashback damages then something more closed off would be better
where do you meet your actor friends?
and seems like it. remember how I tried to block a blade with my bare arms last month? that's how i found out.
Really? man, that's so handy! i'm jealous, there's a breeze that keeps making my ears grow cold, but if i pull my jacket up its too warm
do you know the little summer cafe next to the stream at [insert address here]? we can meet there, there's some stone stairs we can sit on without getting bothered
[When Shouto arrives he will find Cutter perched on the far corner of one of the big stone steps, wearing jeans and cuddled into an oversized orange hoodie with the hood up. His pose seems relaxed, but his shoulders form a tense line and his gaze is distant as he stares at the water.]
[Shouto's there in the hour he said it would take, in a hoodie that's covering most of his face. The bag at his side is full of makeup that he doesn't know exactly how to use, but that's for later.]
[Cutter's reaction is painfully slow when he blinks and turns to Shouto, taking in his looks before he snorts and raises his hand in a lazy wave.]
Hey. I don't remember agreeing to going in partner look.
[He gives him a lopsided smirk that quickly falls when he realizes that he is showing his teeth that way. Jerking his head back to the water Cutter presses his lips together and keeps his eyes lowered as if that can hide their new striking red color.]
[Grabbing a pebble he stands up and hurls it into the water. It doesn't skip, but at least there's a small splash as it goes under.]
I have been worried about that right from the get-go. That we'll lose touch between what's true and what's just fabricated from those memories or whatever they are.
[Jamming his hands into his pants pockets Cutter gives Shouto a wry smile.]
But some monster teeth and a scar like that is hard to ignore, isn't it? I want to fight against those things, but I just don't have no clue how! It's frustrating!
My family? [He stops and gives Shouto a quizzical look that turns into suspicion and then a surprised look of understanding.
Oh!
Of course.]
Nah, I haven't. I guess it's because my family isn't anything important for me since, y'know. Orphan and all. It's the people who raised me that count to me. Did you....?
[Pushing himself back into Shouto's line of view Cutter pouts at him with a frowny face. Then he places a finger in the middle of his forehead and flicks it.]
For an actor you're sure a shitty liar. If you want to say something then just say it.
[He knows that Shouto never beats around the bush. He doesn't want him to begin with it now.]

We have magical doctors now?

The river should be fine, I think. There aren't a lot of people there now, right? Let me get the makeup.
I'm glad they could fix that for you.
no subject
you sure about that? it's pretty cold

I've seen it. I'll probably be by in an hour.
switch to action
k, i'll see you there

You look like I remember you now.

[But with Kirishima's eyes like that and teeth like that... he's starting to look like the guy in his memories.
He'll take a seat on the stairs next to Cutter and look out at the water.]
... So do you. Or at least a little more like him.
no subject
[He stops and frowns, belatedly noticing the obvious flaw in the logic of his surprise.]
no subject
Right?
no subject
How can I start to look more like myself if I already am?!
no subject
I didn't have a scar. I didn't have half and half hair.
But my double does. So I get it. I guess.
no subject
[While Cutter is what? Turning into a vampire-werewolf?]
no subject
[He tugs on a lock of hair, a mix of red and white.]
no subject
[He shrugs his shoulders. Split in two hair was mostly for rebellions teens from what Cutter can tell, but that sort of fits Shouto too, doesn't it?]
Does it really bother you that much? The white should be easy to dye over.
no subject
[But now it's annoying. The hair was fine, the scar is just... unacceptable.]
I... I don't know. I feel like I'm losing myself and turning into my double.
Sorry. Nothing I've had to deal with has been as bad as your stuff.

But he's looking down and away when Cutter tries to smile at him.]
It's hard to fight it when it seems to be ourselves.
... Hey, did you ever get any memories of your double's parents? Family life? That kinda stuff...?
no subject
Oh!
Of course.]
Nah, I haven't. I guess it's because my family isn't anything important for me since, y'know. Orphan and all. It's the people who raised me that count to me. Did you....?

I've remembered my... my double's mother and father. He had a... complicated family life. [Yeah, that's definitely one way to put it.]
no subject
[Pushing himself back into Shouto's line of view Cutter pouts at him with a frowny face. Then he places a finger in the middle of his forehead and flicks it.]

Acting is different from lying.
It's bad enough my shitty old man is shitty. I didn't think he'd be worse in those memories.
