I'm absolutely floored that you think my commentary is the pits. Are you a movie star, because your second story is holey wood. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that any objections to the contrary aren't likely to hold much weight.

DeWitt wants to redirect a few police routes to head closer to my neighborhood after the madness of a few weeks ago. I declined. I may just be imagining it, but I've seen more officers than I used to.

On one hand, I can see where that might not be such a bad idea.

On the other hand, that madman was an isolated incident, wasn't it? And he's in custody now, so the chance of a repeat offense is essentially nil?

More or less, yes.

I think he was more disturbed at the revelation than anything, frankly. I hadn't told him, and he was . . . on top of getting the app, on top of a few other revelations between us, it was an enormous shock. So he compensated the only way he knew how, and so did I. We fought a bit.
