It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm afraid things are really quite busy here, and unfortunately our liaison has been compromised. Well...so have a lot of people, actually. Are you still yourself if you're not the self you were? It's the kind of conversation we've had a lot of times, around here. I've always only been myself, but if I woke up tomorrow as someone else, would I still be me even if I wasn't? I think rather than worrying about that the best thing I can do is focus on trying to sort things out as best I can. I'm a little worried, actually, but I think I can manage to give everyone a shot even if I can't fix things on my own or even with everyone's help. But you can help! Or at least I think it will help if you think about what it means to be "you". It's okay if that answer changes or doesn't. Just hold onto that concept and don't let it go. And maybe tell other people what you think it means? Not like I'm saying you have to talk about that. I think usually you all just talk about anything, and I think that is also a good way to hold onto who you are and who you want to be. Sometimes I think it'd be fun, all those parties or little plans. I've never spent much time outside of these walls, did you know? I don't have time to really ramble, though. Those of you who know what I mean, we're doing our best. Those of you who don't, you do your best too. Pay attention to the things you tell yourself, and I'll try to fix what I can fix. Please take care. Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr spec Incorporated
Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain one of this month's freebies! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 10 or more consecutive comments from you. Additionally per the mod plotting post, new AUs are now considered live and operational, though the dreamshares are not yet!
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. |

but thanks for the thought experiment, i'm sure it's very helpful to some people who don't have other things to be concerned about

yeah i guess it is. you get really good at balancing things when your entire life is on the razor's edge. i wish i could say the same for some other people i know but that isn't any of my business

i think that makes sense but i'm not sure, you know what i mean

You believe that your troubles are far bigger than theirs, too, then?

Do you think those are the only problems that people with silver spoons have? Have you blinded yourself so completely by your miserable situation that you cannot sympathize with anyone outside it?

You will never find anyone to understand and sympathize with you if you cannot understand that much. In the end, with your current attitude, you'll find more people wishing for you to suffer than to want to help you up.

Still, if you've got other problems, you should tell someone. Maybe not everyone though.
[ says someone who has very few of such issues and CERTAINLY doesn't take her own advice. best roommate, right? ]

[such a good roommate. such a good roommate who would have no idea what Lina's even talking about. god she's so happy that they're roommates!]

Is someone propositioning you?

he's spouting some shit about how rich people's money is different from poor people's money and wants to make some kind of deal with me before he'll give me some of his precious rich people money

Especially ones who know that the cops can't believe anything that happens on here.
But that line just sounds like bullshit to me.
no subject
anyway i don't believe what he's saying for a second and i really don't think it's worth whatever he's offering so i'm probably not going to take it
your money isn't any different from mine, you just have way more of it
no subject
If someone's going around making deals like that I wouldn't want none of it. Neither should you.
And you're right.
It's like people who say money can't buy happiness.
Buying things with money sure as hell makes ME feel better.
If it doesn't work for them, then that's their problem.

you must feel pretty amazing all the time
i'm jealous

I've been working my ass off to get this far since I was a kid.
Anyone can do that if they put in the effort.
A lucky break can help, too.
You'll get there.

My plan involves getting scouted. Getting those sweet sponsorship deals.
You could always marry a rich dude, then bail out in a few years in with half his money.
