Welcome back, users. Looks like we were able to bring you back online and tracked again...here's hoping the layers are settled now, but the readings are off the chart. We're doing our best to stabilize the city for December while we track some of the magical sources we're picking up. It may take us some time though, so please bear with us! We may be working through the holidays, too, if this keeps up. But it's okay. You opened the doors and new routes for us to check. Stay positive, users. December is a special time of the year. What's your favorite holiday tradition? You'd be surprised how thoughts shape things here. Please take care. Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr ![]()

Hi Joanne. Nice to hear from you again.
Question for everyone. Did you happen to hear anything from some of the ghosts last month? Because I sure did.
The one I talked to said Retrospec began working on someone from the first batch of Alphas BEFORE the app was launched in February of last year. Their case was deemed a success after a few years of monitoring, which then lead to the app we now use being released. And apparently, their case was so successful, Retrospec eventually brought them into the company, both to monitor further growth and "to use as a catalyst to try and reach a further level." I guess this means past the five levels we know of?
I thought at first the ghost meant Zee, but if I remember correctly, Zee was a Beta. So... I know there's still a few people who were in the original February batch. Thoughts on this?
Also, a reminder that Weapons Practice is every Sunday at 6PM at the Utsuki Dojo. I know it's holiday season, but if you want to train, I'll be there.

It better not be Jim... That's really all I have to say.

Al
One, REALLY annoying ghost girl eventually ended up telling me that there were houses for each of the family heads and each one used their talent to build their house.
One of them must have been "trap making"
Re: Al
Though, whether 'trap making' would apply best to Mahoney or Vandeweele, IDK.
Re: Al
Shame, I thought I found the perfect place to practice my fire magic.

i thought zee was a delta
but yeah i did hear some stuff from a ghost last month about retrospec stuff
he said that the founders chose to put vanderweele in prison instead of kill him because they needed to keep him around to figure out what parts of the city he magic'd up and how to undo it
apparently they've been doing it for decades now and i don't think it's over yet either
he made it sound like the magic is still around and that vanderweele is still alive somewhere

Oh, did some of the ghosts have information like that? I was a bit busy last month, so I didn't end up talking to many of them...
Do you know if there was only one successful case like this, or was this person just the only one they recruited?
no subject
I don't know. I asked the ghost a similar question and he didn't know.

It's curious that they'd know about the one but not any others... But that doesn't mean that there was only one. It's something to keep in mind, anyway. I hadn't expected the ghosts to have Retrospec-relevant information like that!

Hitori Togusa Place bets now! It'll likely be somebody not related to the Founders, Joanne and Maurice said they grew up with the company, so likely Janet has been with them a long time, too. So of the people we know about, I'd flip a coin between Mister Baroque and Wendy Guo. Wendy mentioned on the app that she's been waiting a very long time for someone from the world she remembers, so I'm less likely to suspect her.
Hitori Togusa or, you know, it's Jim. Sounds like he's been in Retrospec even longer than a lot of people, but he did start out as our contact...

There's also Ronnie and Danny. We know pretty much nothing about them.
1/2
Jim Halloway (Research & Development): Asshole
Janet Halloway née Wiseman (Human Resources): Related to Mahoney Family, makes her a resident of Recolle, not an Alpha.
Joanne Wiseman (Technician 2nd class): Ditto. Claimed to have grown up with the company.
Wendy Gou (Security/Archivist (formerly Security alone)): Made mention that she is from another world, bets are good.
Maurice Fitzwilliam (Mail Department (formerly Intern)): Same as Joanne, grew up with the company, has known Joanne for years. Too much on the inside.
Marguerite Mahoney (Admin?): Founding Families member.
Mr. Baroque (Chief of Security?): Cyborg, but I forgot this note of Elda's: "He has been with the company for a long time apparently, or at least enough to see more than one director." So not him.
Nigel Cavendish (Research & Development): Founding Family
Danny (presumed tech): Mentioned in The Engagement Video.
Ronnie (Train lines):

Found it. Dr. Izunia mentioned Ronnie, but he has apparently been a part of the company since near their founding.
He'd have to be a family member, they were so big on keeping the company in the families at first, apparently.
Which leaves Zee, who was a delta, and was not finished with remembering his other life.
But, looking back, we can even cross out Wendy, because she mentioned that she's been here through multiple attempts at integration....I think. That's how I took her message.
