Happy New Years, users.

I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps.

As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think?

The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can.

Please take care.

Ignoring them seems to work fine for me most of the time, but to each their own.

[ this is the stupidest lie anyone has made up about retrospec, ever ]

You have my congratulations, then. You're probably the only one in the city.

Thank you! It's much easier to have everyone else clean up their messes, because I certainly don't see why I have to.

Oh, don't worry. I don't see much point in it, either, and that's why I don't intend to simply leave it at that.

Oh? Well you can't just leave at that... That's not very fair to leave out the details, now is it?

They do claim patience is a virtue.

Abiding by a restrictive code of morals doesn't seem very virtuous.

But that's hardly the point, and anyway, if you really don't have a plan, that's fine... Unless you're one of those people thinking you can one up Retrospec by keeping quiet? Don't worry, I'm sure they already know and have planned for whatever you planned on doing. Don't forget, they're practically in your head already!

I've spoken to them enough to know that they aren't, actually.

I disagree, but you already seem to have things figured out... so once again, to each their own.

If your stance is one of complete inaction, you have nothing worth contributing to those who are planning to do otherwise in the first place.

My stance is more, why waste my time with the same things Retrospec does every month when it would be a better use of my time to "take action," as you say, once there's a direct line to exploit their vulnerabilities? Besides, there's people like you who can do all the monthly running around in my stead, but call it what you want... Whatever makes you feel better.

In other words, you have no plan and are waiting for others to make one for you, and then you can claim you masterminded your participation all along.

I've worked with plenty along your lines.

Say what you will, but that still isn't going to change my mind on working smarter, not harder. :)

I don't recall saying that I was trying to change anyone's mind - you're the one who showed up and began grandstanding about how you're doing nothing and have no plans?

That's what you think. I'm not so stupid to say what plans I may have over the network... Certainly not where everyone can see.

It's no wonder no one has been successful in doing anything, if that's how you go about things.

Oh, I'm certainly not going to disagree with that - though from what we've heard from Retrospec in the past, discussing things in person isn't much better.

Any plans I may have are ones for myself alone to enact. I'm hardly going to drag anyone down with me - both because they're a liability and I likely won't need the external support. Retrospec already knows what I'm capable of alone; if they fall victim to it themselves, that's hardly my concern.
