Happy New Years, users.

I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps.

As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think?

The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can.

Please take care.

Normally, I'd agree, but... the incident, with Zee a few months ago. They said that someone had gotten back a dangerous ability, and that they used it on him. If they knew who had it, then they would have done something about it in the first place, right? It sounds like they don't really have full knowledge of what any of us have here really have.

But they seem to have a history of letting people get back dangerous things without putting the proper precautions on it. There was someone who used to have the app who got back a virus that... did terrible things to her mind, and made her do awful things. It would have killed her if she didn't somehow find help.

[ That's right: that post that Garfield had made a while ago had mentioned that the murder weapon, whatever it was, had been something given back to a Retrospec user by none other than Retrospec themselves. It was enough to make Bakhura reconsider his age-old belief that Retrospec had had it out for them, even though the grudge he held against them for the way they've ruined his personal relationships even worse than he already had himself would never go away, and he gives pause before finally sending a reply: ]

...that's true. For an organization that claims to be interested in protecting us from people like Vanderweele, they sure do seem to have just as much of a hand in putting our lives in danger as any of the entities that they're trying to keep away from us... it's just a little strange, don't you think?

In fact, it's starting to make me wonder how much control they truly have over what it is we get back from our original worlds, and when.

[Oh jeez, that is a mood. Not so much on what Retrospec had given back to him, but he was close to Mio, who had a similar sort of fallout thanks to the virus she had regained. It was enough to make him hate them, even though they didn't seem to be as directly responsible for making their lives miserable than he thought.]

I don't think they have any control at all, which is probably the most frightening thing about all of this. They say they want to restore us, and bring back our 'original' selves... but are they even keeping track of it? There's so many people here who've lost pieces of themselves, gotten dangerous things, in order to make us like the people in our memories, but did they ever think of what it could do to us?

I don't like what's going on with Vanderweele, but I don't have much trust in Retrospec, either. They're not evil, but they're the reason why we're in this mess to begin with.
