Happy New Years, users.

I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps.

As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think?

The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can.

So, do we have to give out the standard warnings this month? Watch your step, tell people where you're going? Etc.?

Honestly, it probably wouldn't hurt. I've noticed some new names on the network, so best to err on the side of caution.

Something for us to keep in mind, too, as I get reminded that the Department still hasn't partnered me up with anyone. The officer I was closest to before my promotion just made SWAT, so.

Maybe now that the holidays are properly over they'll get you a partner. You can't go around doing solo investigations now. Just look at all the trouble Ryuuzaki got himself into whenever he did that.

He's off the app, but I enjoyed working with Detective Matsuoka. Ichirou is still a good friend.

His son's alive again, and it's like nothing ever happened to them. I hope nothing bursts that bubble.

But since the Big Guy With The Eyes hasn't shown up yet, I'll take whoever I can get to keep an eye on.

Whose to say he'd even be on the police with you if he did. Maybe in this life he'd be a pastry chef.

I can't imagine it. But maybe he is! Hell, maybe there's a version of him running around that I just haven't recognized because he doesn't have the eyes, his hair's short, and he doesn't look like he could pick me up with one hand.

I'll look around a little closer at the coffee shop next time I go.

You never know. Recolle is a decent sized city. I see people on the street all the time that I've never seen before and they could have been here just as long as I have, or longer.

I've always felt like Recolle is a small town, you know? It feels small for how big it truly is. But everybody doesn't really know everybody.

Feels like it used to be that way, at one point, though.

Maybe compared to a really big city like Tokyo or LA.

Maybe it's because of the app. Those of us on it feel like our own town at times.
