retrospec | (no subject)

Happy New Years, users.

I'll cut to the chase; the barrier we instilled a few months ago is decaying quickly and we're sorting through the new data as fast as we can. This barrier was originally designed to contain a rogue error. There are several of you who have taken care of this issue and from here we will handle the rest...thank you. The influx of data will help us decode our next steps.

As mentioned, we've spent December tracing several magical sources that are coming up in our readings. We're doing the best we can to trace Clarence--Mr. Vanderweele, and corral the effects he's altering in the city. I believe we're ready to tear down the firewall and begin exploring further. If our information is correct, we're really breaking the boundaries of the layers we've discovered lately! It's exciting, don't you think?

The only information I can offer is that we will need you to be strong no matter what happens. We believe things have changed outside of security measures we've set in place, though we will need more data to understand the best way to stabilize the city from his control. We understand if you cannot and do not wish to help, but please know we're doing everything we can.

Haha, oh that's what happened. Well I guess everyone has to rebel in their own ways.

If you're that worried about getting caught, you can always store it at my place. We have plenty of weapons here, but our landlord's never had a problem.

I'm not really that worried. Have you seen how they inspect dorms? So long as you don't have a bunch of daisy-chained extension cords taped on your wall they basically don't even look. And I know that now, but I didn't then, so... no matter how you look at it, it was stupid, but here we are.

Oh right, I forgot about that with the dorms. That explains why my old dormmate was able to get away with so much smoking.

My past roommate was a real treat, too. You have my sympathies.

Yeah, I guess so. Although, here's hoping I remember how to use the thing past what I've retained from my classes back home...

Yeah, I've heard some people get memories of their skills- so maybe you will too!

Yeah. The offer opened up when I signed back up for housing and I grabbed it.

Either way, sounds like there's a good deal of training in my future. That's one way to work out, I guess.

Yeah, for sure! Still don't really do much physical training, but practicing magic's become pretty routine for me.

Yeah. When you've got magic, though, you've got range, so it's not like you've got too much to worry about physically... I'm going to have to be a lot more fit than I am if I'm planning on swinging a sword around.

...Heh. It's crazy talking about all of this seriously.

Haha, yeah that's true enough. Then again, you should have magic too eventually. So you might have to practice both.

You know your life has gone crazy when "yeah, I hung out with yetis last month" is one of the least weird things you can say. Sigh...
