so hey, anybody else think it's kind of weird all of this stuff is happening lately and the 13th is on a friday this month? i am just saying.

but because of that, i want to ask you guys something! superstitions. do you believe in them? do you have them? what do you think about the really common ones like broken mirrors, walking under ladders, oooor…you know, black cats crossing your path? and by crossing i mean maybe like crossing and weaving through your ankles and probably tripping you on the sidewalk while following you around town?

just wondering. for no reason whatsoever.

i mean yes, that is also true, but there's a wikipedia article and everything for the actual day that talks about the history of it which is sort of weird.
unpleasant is a very good word for it though.

we have not really thought that far ahead. i thought maybe it would run away again but it seems pretty determined to stick around.

my grandpa is rly superstitious! if we have 13 people at dinner he always invites some1 else! and on the farm we're never allowed 2 have 13 animals of one kind at any time!!!

...13 of one kind of animal sounds like a lot though even for a farm.
i am glad to know other people get it.
it is a little weird though because not all things that are 13 are bad, so it's like. what makes some 13s good and some bad, you know?

i am still deciding. i think magic is real and luck is a thing that can happen, but how it occurs is a whole other thing i am still thinking about. so that is why i am curious what other people think.

I don't really understand this fear of number 13 or Friday the 13th. A lot of people are wary of number 4 in Japan, though that's because it can be pronounced the same way as "death" is. Is there something like that with 13 as well?

Isn't the not walking under ladder thing a thing just to make fewer people get under ladders since it can be dangerous?

hm! i don't know about that. i don't think thirteen sounds like death in any country but i might be wrong about that. there is a whole sprawling explanation about why people around the world are wary of the number 13, but i actually forgot about the number 4 for japan. i read it somewhere.

and you could be right about that, but that is also taking all of the fun out of superstitions haha.
